Lo Definition Invades Telus Spark May 8th

We are very excited to announce and invite you to join us at Telus Spark for Adult Night this Thursday, May 8th.

The entire Lo Def crew will be out to demo a ridiculous amount of the tech/gear that we use to bring our sights and sounds to audiences. Lo Definition will keep a soundtrack and visual display going the entire night, with the added touches of daring audience members whom choose to get involved on the deck and effects. Going back to so called technological roots with a serious 80’s vibe all night. Lo Definition will also as rock a short performance set to close the night off with a bang!

The theme of the night is “Your Inner Engineer” so fits well as we are 5 engineers by day who bring all our knobs and buttons together at night to create our unique A/V Performances.

PixelMash Video

Our man Snailpainter put together this wicked video that sums up PixelMash as well as you could hope. In January 2012, Lo Definition transformed a warehouse into a new-media art exhibition, video riot and electronic music event. PixelMash featured a collection of work by Shepard Fairey (OBEY), interactive art installations, a massive projection wall controlled by up to 4 visualists working together, a short-film screening room with work from Canada and Sweden, live painting, contemporary art (photography, digital animation, painting, sculpture, glass, textile, print making) and 8 DJs providing the soundtrack through the evening.

UPDATE: We have extended our Call to Artists Deadline to this Sunday June 4. Please take this opportunity to forward this to your contacts.

The team at Lo Definition that brought you PixelMash is returning with a brand new digital & video exhibition titled:  EPOCH

We will be transforming Habitat for one night only, on Thursday June 21, 2012. This event will coincide perfectly with summer solstice, the longest party day of the year.

Interested in having your art on display a EPOCH ?

Submit your submission by June 1st, 2012.

Lo Definition’s Bark Has Bite

After another successful Coachella Music Festival, some members of Lo Definition were able to check out the amazing audio/visual offerings of the festival. With the likes of Amon Tobin and his ISAM: Live and DJ Shadow’s Shawdowsphere, we left amazed and invigorated!

With a summer of events on the horizon, were proud to have our next gig on May 5th at the Amazing FozzyFest 2012 Fundraiser. If you have never heard of FozzyFest, then the first thing you need to know is that this festival packs a mean punch of fun over the July Long Weekend, in the heart of  Kananaskis country just south of Calgary, Alberta. The special thing about this festival, is that by the end of the weekend, you will have the chance to meet almost every person in attendance and be able to leave with a whole new festival of friends.

Please join us on May 5th at the Killarney Community Hall for a night of music, visuals, and dance floor antics.
